Sebastian Gaskin Unveils Debut Album LOVECHILD
Toronto-based, Tataskweyak Cree Nation-raised multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer Sebastian Gaskin has officially released his highly anticipated debut album, LOVECHILD. Out today via Ishkōdé Records and Universal Music Canada, the eleven-track project cements Gaskin’s place as one of the most dynamic and boundary-pushing voices in contemporary R&B.
Anchored in R&B and pop, with soulful and indie rock undertones, LOVECHILD is a masterclass in genre-blending, showcasing Gaskin’s evocative lyricism and rich sonic textures. The album features the brand-new single, “Shadows,” co-produced by Gaskin alongside Evan Miles (6LACK, Aqyila, Jon Vinyl).
Several of the album’s tracks have already made waves, including the chart-topping “Cherie Amour”, the SOCAN Award-winning “Medicine,” and the deeply personal “Song For Granny.” Additionally, LOVECHILD includes the powerful “Brown Man” and “Ghost”—both of which have earned 2025 JUNO Award nominations for Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year and Recording Engineer of the Year (Hill Kourkoutis), respectively.
With LOVECHILD, Gaskin delivers a deeply personal and sonically rich debut that further solidifies his reputation as a trailblazing artist to watch.
